In this retreat you will dive deep into yourself to explore what drives you, what holds you back and how to awaken to your true life purpose.  While in Dharamsala you will have the chance to experience Tibetan culture, beautiful nature,  participate in an Ayurvedic cooking class and come on a afternoon trip through the Kangra valley to a holy temple for a ceremony.  All this within an organized, hassle-free retreat where you will practice daily yoga, make great friends and nourish your soul.

Each retreat is one week long, so you can join one or both as they are back to back.  Make sure to reserve your spot in both if you want to come along for 2 weeks.  Since March is quite some time away you will first need to reserve your spot.

Any deposit will not be returned, nor will the full payment when made at the time.  It may be a good idea to purchase travel insurance in case of any last minute emergencies.

While March 2018 is some months away, it is often the case that the earlier you book your flight the cheaper the rate.  There are direct flights with Air Canada to Delhi going from $1200 CAD when booked 3 months in advance.  Feel free to contact us for any help or recommendations when it comes to flying to India.

FAQ India:

  • Traveling to India for the first time?

You may have heard many stories about peoples journey’s and experiences in India. Sometimes its hard to get a grasp of what to really expect when travelling to this massive country. Yoga Cabin has been there many times and can offer a few important tips to make the transition a bit easier.
  • What Happens when I arrive at the airport?

All Yoga Cabin activities in India have the starting point of Delhi. You will need to arrange your flight here on your own. Once you have booked your flight and provide us with details, we will arrange for a private driver to pick you up directly at the airport to drive you to Rishikesh which is the starting point of all the programs. The driver will hold up a sign with your name and flight number so that you can easily identify him. The drive to Rishikesh is 6 hours and can be done at any time. We only use safe and reliable drivers and services and safety is not an issue. A good tip as well is to take out some Rupees from the airport atm. Some machines in India allow you only a maximum limit of 10 000 rp per transaction whereas the airport allows double that amount. Either way it is good to have some cash with you if you haven’t already converted your cash. When you arrive in Rishikesh you will be given your room and orientation of the retreat centre and surrounding area. If you are arriving before your scheduled program there will be a fee per room per night. Please contact for more information.
  • What should I wear?

It is true that while in India is safe for travellers, it is wise to respect and follow local rules and customs. Women in India will be more safe if they are covered up. In metropolis areas these customs are not so strict, but it will be easier to travel being aware of local traditions. Women are to cover their shoulders, knees and cleavage. Scarves and shawls go a long way to make this easier. Also it is wise in order to avoid unwanted attention to wear loose non-form fitting clothes. During yoga practice you may wear leggings and tank-tops, but still be mindful about modest Indian customs. Buying clothing in India is relatively inexpensive and very accessible. Make sure you don’t fill up your suitcase completely.
  • What should I prepare before I leave?

The most important thing to remember is to obtain a visa for India.  You must check your local Indian embassy application process and allow enough time for processing.  A tourist visa for Canadians applying in Canada is about 7-15 days.  Please allow enough time for the visa as you will not be allowed into India without it.

It may be advisable to check with your local travel clinic about updating any necessary immunizations while travelling to India.  Sanitation in India can be a problem and many travellers’ illnesses like diarrhea are common.  Talk to your doctor about your upcoming trip and make sure that you are not experiencing any contradictory conditions to practicing yoga.

If you are coming for a Yoga Teacher Training it is advisable that you have a regular yoga practice at least one month prior to the teacher training.

  • What should I bring?

While in Rishikesh you will find that western comforts and products are easily accessible.  Being a major tourist destination, both local and imported products are available so if you forgot something at home you would likely be able to replace it.
